Since January 1996, Baba held management positions with various biotech, consumer product and marketing firms in the Puget Sound region. Responsibilities included writing business plans, offering circulars and marketing plans, negotiating manufacturing, licensing and distribution agreements, development of regulatory and clinical strategies, comprehensive sales and marketing strategies and contracting outside sales organizations and communications firms. Additional duties included developing financial forecasts, raising capital, managing the prosecution of intellectual property/technology transfer, mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnerships and the hiring and management of support staff. Specifically, Baba was Director of Shareholder Relations for Receptagen LTD., a publicly held biotech firm specializing in small molecule drug development, CEO and Co-Founder of Q-Pharma, Inc., an oral care consumer product company, President of Avalon Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotech firm developing a proprietary purfusate solution for organ preservation, Vice President of SunSpots International, Inc., a consumer product marketing firm that sold suncare products through food, drug and mass merchandising channels, Chief Operating Officer for BioPurus, LLC that was developing purified topical application products and Regional Director for Customer Information Center, a marketing firm specializing in in-store advertising.
